MOST WIND RESISTANT ELECTRIC TARP CONVERSION The EXT arms do not hyper extend in the wind because the linkage keeps a constrained range of motion. This is important for a safe one man operation.
PATENTED FORCE TRANSFER The patented " Force Transfer" linkage allows the arms to climb heaped loads and perform excellent in the wind.
PREASSEMBLED & PREWIRED This electric conversion kit comes preassembled for fast and easily installation. Includes: All metal 1.8 HP High Torque Motor 1 Wireless Remote Kit 1 Preassembled Front Arm 1 Preassembled Rear Arm 1 Roll Tube Adapter All mounting hardware.
ADJUSTABLE The adjustable mounting bracket makes it easy to install.
SAFE & EFFICIENT When operating in the field, it's important to efficiently close your tarp. Slow tarp openers allow more time for the wind to lift your tarp and cause unnecessary damage. Stay in control of your tarp wirelessly and power through wind with the EXT electric tarp conversion kit as a safe one-man operation.
BUILT SOLID All of the EXT components are built to last for years and are tested in the harshest conditions.
EXT electric tarp conversion kit for grain trailers!
EXT Electric Tarp conversion is the most reliable electric system in the wind . The patented force transfer linkage design prevents hyperextension .
Automate what you do this harvest season!
- How to install an EXT Electric Conversion.
STEP 1 Measure for placement of the front base on the trailer, approximately 31’’ down from the top of the trailer. NOTE: Not from the roll tarp end cap.
STEP 2: Position the base with the top hole at the 31’’ mark down from the top of the trailer. Have the center line decal on the center stake of trailer and mark the remaining rivets/ holes. NOTE: If the catwalk is in the way deter- mine if above or below the catwalk is closer to 31’’.
STEP 3: Using a 5/16’’ drill bit, drill out the marked rivets/holes.
STEP 4 Thread holes with the provided 3/8’’ self threading bolt.
STEP 5 Using 1 1/4’’ x 3/8’’ bolts , mount the base utilizing the pre-threaded holes.
NOTE: For trailers with ribbed paneling, it is necessary to use nylon spacers provid- ed.
STEP 6 On the interior of trailer install the 3/8’’ nuts, lock washers, & flat washers onto the 1 1/4’’ x 3/8’’ bolts.
STEP 7 Use the holes on the face of the base that is closest to 33’’ down from top of trailer to mount the pivot/arm assembly with the 1 1/4’’ x 1/2’’ bolts provided.
STEP 8 Drill a 1’’ hole below the base, preferrably under catwalk so cables do not touch.
STEP 9 Install small rubber grommet in the 1’’ hole.
STEP 10 Lace cable through arm as shown and push through grommet, let cable sag down a few inches from the catwalk.
STEP 11 Determine desired location for the plug receiver. Before drilling 2’’ hole check to make sure there are no wires or hoses underneath or in the way.
STEP 12 Install receiver using 3/8’’ self threading bolts.
STEP 13 Mount rear base in a similar manner as the front base.
STEP 14 Use the holes on the face of the base that is closest to 33’’ down from top of trailer to mount the pivot/arm assembly with the 1 1/4’’ x 1/2’’ bolts provided.
STEP 15 Remove bungee cord and u-clamps from tarp.
STEP 16 Meaure from front arm to 3’’ beyond rear arm to determine length of roll tube and adapter.
STEP 17 Pull the end of the roll tube out away from the tarp and insert roll tube adapter, spot weld straight then weld. Be sure to protect the tarp and surrounding objects from welding splatter. Let the weld cool , then slide the roll tube back into the white poly bushing of the rear arm (approx. 2-3’’ beyond bushing).
STEP 18 Mount the motor to the front arm, using the 5/16’’ nuts and lock washers.
STEP 19 Install cable terminals to the studs on the motor. Do not allow stud to spin when tightening, and do not over tighten.
STEP 20 Install motor to motor shaft adapter with the 1 3/4’’ x 3/8’’ bolt and 3/8’’ locking nut.
STEP 21 Mount the retaining washer to secure motor.
STEP 22 Install motor cover using 1/4’’ torque screws and lock washers provided.
STEP 23 To reinstall the u-clamps, be sure the roll tube is slid back into rear arm then square front arm with the face of the trailer. Next, install front u-clamp and remove all wrinkles and twists from pock- et by stretching the tarp from the back of trailer. Proceed installing the rest of the u-clamps.
STEP 24 Square rear arm with the back face of the trailer. Then install roll tube collars.
